- Held two watercooler chats hosted by industry-leading editor Larry Kunz. They demonstrated several initiatives:
(1) boosting SIG value by offering opportunities to interact with industry leaders.

- Held two watercooler chats of a new format, "un-moderated chats." They demonstrated several initiatives:
(1) creating a new format for community interaction, encouraging SIG members to take the lead in the program
(2) opened these chats to nonmembers, thereby expanding the SIG value beyond the membership and promoting the SIG as a go-to place

- Opened the Live Chat page to nonmembers, to promote the SIG as a go-to place
- Larry Kunz says that he's incorporating the exchanges that came from his SIG programming (quarterly and watercoolers) in his upcoming 2011 Summit presentation, "Documentation in a Collaborative World: What We’ve Learned." - SIG Business meeting wsa held at the 2011 Summit in Sacramento
- SIG hosted a table at the Community Networking Event at the Conference and provided brochures to promote the SIG to potential members.
- SIG wins Pacesetter Award for watercooler chats.
- Formed and began training a new committee, the programming committee
- Created training and tracking tools for the committee

- Awarded the 2011 Diane Feldman STC Technical Editing SIG Scholarship to two students: Tasha Fowler, and John Todd Hawkins.
- Set up volunteer work area for collaboration by new programming committee (for developing calendar for the upcoming year, and for exploring and fleshing our programming themes)
- Was approached by a member of the CIC SIG for information on our award-winning watercooler chat format

- Held webinar fundraiser, Documentation Strategies for the Social Web Fundraising Presentation featuring Anne Gentle
- Held watercooler chat, http://www.stc-techedit.org/SIG+Watercooler+Chat+-+Documentation+Strategies+for+the+Social+Web. This showed several initiatives:
(1) Enriching, or bundling with, the main program of the earlier webinar "Strategies for the Social Web Fundraising Presentation"
(2) Making a related part of the main webinar's program available openly, for free
(3) Moving to My STC for our watercoolers - Partnered with Carolina chapter to advertise and host the webinar
- Developed a special archival system to limit access to our paid-for fundraiser materials
- Held elections for SIG board.
